Quizzically Speaking

Your result for The Best Thing About You Test...

Humility

Humility is your strongest virtue. You are humble.

Humility is the defining characteristic of an unpretentious and modest person, someone who does not think that he or she is better or more important than others. And you? When you do the right thing, you're doing it for all the right reasons. All 7 virtues are a part of you, but your humility runs deepest.

It is likely you're a quiet type. But if not, then you just have dark, secret side that loves to give.

Humble famous people: JD Salinger, Isaac Newton, Harry Potter (pre-puberty)

Your raw relative scores follow. 0% is low, and 100% is perfect, nearly impossible. Note that I pitted the virtues against each other, so in some way these are relative scores. It's impossible to score high on all of them, and a low score on one is just relatively low compared to the other virtues.

44% Honesty

Fascinating. I'm also surprised that the photo is of someone with a horse. Hmm.

You Are Fettuccine Alfredo

Compared to most people, you have rich and decadent tastes.
If you can afford something, you'll go ahead and indulge yourself.
You are a true foodie. No food is off the table for you.
You're the type most likely to appreciate every aspect of a five star meal.

What Pasta Dish Are You?

Suddenly, I'm very hungry.

I wish my horse could take this next test. Interestingly enough, when I first started work at my old job, my manager had us all take a test to find out if we were Right- or Left-Brained. I'm glad to see that the results haven't changed.

Your result for The Right Brain vs Left Brain Test...

Center Brained!

Much like Goldilocks, you have gone the middle way.

Slightly less typical, you could consider yourself center-brained. Center-brained people are neither left nor right dominant, but rather exhibit equal qualities of both. If you are center-brained, you are likely both logical and creative, excel in the maths and sciences, and also art and philosophy.

As my former manager called it, "Whole Brain Goodness!" Pat Parelli would call that an Extreme Middle-of-the-Roadist. Speaking of Parelli...

I found my trailer ride, and Cheerios and I are on our way to the second clinic of the season in October! And we cantered yesterday! Big breakthrough. Huge. Psyched!

When In France...

And to think, I took French 101 and 102 and aced both... c'est pathetique, non? ;-)

Your result for The Let's Parler French Test...

78% LikelyToSurvive!

You scored 78% Likely To Survive in a French-speaking country.

Obviously, you get some negative points if you say 'sh*t' instead of thank you, or 'eff off' instead of sorry!

So... that would be "merde" rather than "merci"? LOL! "Merde beaucoup!"

True to form. No fish, organs, or leaves. Also, no one that I've had for a pet. So I'd better hurry up and try curried goat before I get a pet goat because once I've been friends with one, it'll be all over. No insects (on purpose—I can't help it if they fly into my mouth before I swallow). Nothing made from hooves and hides (lox). Nothing containing lips and @$$holes (hot dogs). And the snake thing? Uh... crocs, snakes, lizards... maybe I should update it to No Lizards, Gizzards, Fish or Leaves.

Another Cat In Need

This must be the week for Cats In Need.

I'm a longtime reader of non-knitting blogger Anne... Straight From the Hip. Anne posted the tragic tale of a cat she rescued from a neighbor who is very ill and unable to properly care for the Maine Coon cat she had adopted from the Humane Society, let alone herself.

Because of the neighbor's mental state and living conditions—which you'll have to read about at Anne's blog rather than my meager attempt to describe it—the cat has become seriously ill and Anne has taken on the challenge of saving him as well as helping the neighbor.

The vet bills, as you can imagine, are rising.

Though I am between jobs myself, I'm pledging to help Anne save this beautiful feline friend. If you have the heart, please do what you can. Every little bit helps.

Momcat and Kitten Need Home(s)

Hey all, especially anyone in the NW Ohio area...

My friend D called today. She's found a stray Momcat and her kitten hanging around outside work. Both are very friendly, litter-trained, and pretty. Mom is longhaired, grey with a bit of orange. Not sure what color Kitten is. D thinks they were dropped off.

They need homes.

D says that the shelters in our area are full, and have 6-8 month waiting lists. Like me, she has several beasties of her own already and plenty of mouths to feed. (Unlike me, she doesn't have the 5-cat-per-household limit—if I have more than that inside the city limits, I'd have to register as a Cattery and pay money!)

Please, local peeps, put out the word. Let's find these two kitties a new home. I'll see if I can get some photos to post. If you're interested, email me at jrberry63 AT woh DOT rr DOT com (it's working again) and send your contact info and I'll hook you up with D.

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE! New home for kitties is on its way, I can feel it...
